How We Award More Scholarships
There are several ways to help!
Donate any amount you wish to whichever scholarship fund you choose. Please know that ANY amount helps. You can do this through our donate button at the top right of the website and can designate which fund in the comment box.
Involve your graduating class. As you can see in the December 6th post “The Value of Our Scholarships” several classes have done this. All you need is the desire and capacity to collect money! Often, this is done during or around the time of a reunion. You can charge an extra $1 per ticket or literally pass a hat at your event(s). There are several ways if you’re willing! Contact me if you are interested.
MHS organizations and booster clubs can donate especially if they have a particular interest in one of the scholarships (e.g., band, music, Cross Country, leadership). Advertise it when selling items and you may get some extra purchases. Then donate a pre-determined amount or percentage of your sales.
A more ambitious way is to leave a donation through estate planning or your will. It may seem crazy to some, but many do this! It is a wonderful way to give back to the community, particularly if you don’t have heirs. Oklahoma City Community Foundation has individuals to walk you through the process.
